Ecobank Transnational Incorporated has bagged the Asian Banker Middle East and Africa Regional Award for BEST RETAIL BANK IN NIGERIA.

The Asian Banker and the International Panel of Advisors, said it decided to present Ecobank with the award, as the bank successfully went through all the stringent evaluation for the Middle East and Africa Regional Awards.
The Asian Banker Middle East and Africa Regional Awards Programme provides the undisputed benchmark against which to measure the performance of the best banks and financial institutions. The Awards are viewed by executives as the most prestigious, comprehensive and transparent recognition programme of its kind in the world.

The programme is designed to identify emerging best practices in retail financial services and technology implementations and innovations, as well as to identify implementation goals and challenges from which other financial institutions and technology companies can learn.
The reason for the prestigious nature of The Asian Banker awards is the independence, rigor, impartiality and transparency of the evaluation process. The award programmes are run by a team or research managers who conduct extensive desk and field research, including many hours of interviews with short listed candidates. Each programme is predicated by a clear methodology and transparent score cards which are published and shared with the industry.
Each programme has a distinguished Council of Advisors that provides independent validation. In this manner, The Asian Banker ensures its awards reflect the developments in the industry and identify benchmarks and best practices that are useful for business.
Currently The Asian Banker Awards cover Asia Pacific, the Middle East and West Africa where more than 300 banks and non-bank retail financial services players in more than 42 countries are evaluated.

Receiving The Best Retail Bank in Nigeria award at a virtual ceremony this morning, 5th November 2020, Ms Korede Demola-Adeniyi, Head of Consumer Banking in Ecobank Nigeria, said the prize is a big boost to the bank to continue to innovate and provide better service to its customers.
Ecobank, she emphasized, believes that every African should have access to basic banking services. The bank would therefore ensure that it provides and maintains various channels and platforms that would enable it serve all its customers 24/7, using the best technology.
