New Head of Communications at Ecobank Nigeria

Ecobank Nigeria has announced the appointment of Mr. Babajide Sipe as its new Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications.

A statement by the bank says Mr. Sipe’s appointment is part of a strategic move to revamp the Marketing and Corporate Communications department so that it can connect customers to greater value in banking and ensure that Ecobank’s innovative products are effectively articulated to the public, thereby actualizing its focus on driving innovative products and services.

The bank is also making good on its mission to empower Nigerians with all the tools to take control and make the most of their finances.

Jide Sipe, who has over 14 years experience in Public Relations, Media and Brand Management, comes to Ecobank from Heirs Insurance where he was Brand Manager. Before then, he was with GT Bank for over 13 years, working in the Corporate Communications Unit as the Head of Media Relations, and later as head of Experiential Marketing Unit.

As an experienced Marketing and Brand Manager, Mr. Sipe’s multi-faceted career will come to play in leading and enriching the Bank’s Marketing and Communications efforts with in-depth expertise, top-notch creativity and an extensive breadth of value-adding networks.

He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Lagos, a Master’s degree in Business Management from University of Portsmouth, a post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration and Management from the University of London and Executive MBA from the Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos.

Sipe holds membership of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, NIMN, and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR.
